Loose Leaves

Burlington’s fall leaf collection is scheduled to start again next week; here’s what you need to know.

Leaf collection will start in Zones 3 and 4 on Monday, October 24.

Please have loose leaves to the curb by 7:00am on Monday, October 17.

Leaves will be collected by the end of the week.

Burlington residents can prepare with these tips.

  • Place leaves for collection by 7 am on the Monday of your scheduled week.
  • Loose leaves should be piled behind the curb, or on the shoulder of streets without curb & gutter.
  • Do not pile leaves in the street, in drainage ditches, or over water meters.
  • Do not park in front of or on leaf piles.
  • Leaves cannot contain gravel, limbs, glass, or other solid debris.
  • For more frequent leaf collection, place leaves in a yard waste container, no more than a 32 gallon container weighing less than 50 pounds, or in clear plastic bags, weighing less than 50 pounds, for collection on your regular trash day.
  • Leaves can also be collected on a “convenience schedule” during the month of February or by calling (336) 222-5005 to schedule a collection.
